MOUSTICIDE™ is a biolarvicide that is, amongst other things, composed of heat inactivated Pichia pastoris KM71H strain transformed with pPICZ B plasmid containing gene sequences for expression of the Trypsin Modulating Oostatic Factor (TMOF) peptide.
Exposure of mosquito larvae to the TMOF peptide results in suppression of larval growth and development.
EN
Exposure of mosquito larvae to the TMOF peptide results in suppression of larval growth and development.
The term “Recipient organism” refers to an organism (either already modified or non-modified) that was subjected to genetic modification, whereas “Parental organisms” refers to those that were involved in cross breeding or cell fusion.

Some of these genetic elements may be present as fragments or truncated forms. Please see notes below, where applicable.
-
BCH-GENE-SCBD-106440-1 Trypsin Modulating Oostatic Factor gene | Aedes aegypti (Yellow fever mosquito, AEDAE)Protein coding sequence | Changes in quality and/or metabolite content (Protein and amino acids)
-
BCH-GENE-SCBD-106441-3 Alcohol oxidase 1 gene promoter | Komagataella pastoris (Yeast)Promoter
-
BCH-GENE-SCBD-106442-1 Alcohol oxidase 1 gene terminator | Pichia pastoris (Yeast, PICPA)Terminator
The gene responsible for the modified trait(s) is a synthetic DNA sequence optimized for codon usage by Pichia pastoris to express the TMOF decapeptide as isolated from Aedes aegypti mosquito.
